NEW TWIST IN THE CHIDIMMA ADETSHINA BEAUTY PAGEANT SAGA

Post Published on September 6, 2024 by Anthony Ekata

In a dramatic twist to the Chidimma Adestshina beauty pageant story, ActionSA, one of South Africa’s opposition political parties established in 2020 by Herman Mashaba, a former mayor of Johannesburg, has written an urgent letter to the Department of Home Affairs demanding answers regarding how Chidimma Adetshina’s mother travelled to Nigeria.

Chidimma’s mother joined her on stage when she was crowned Miss Universe Nigeria on Saturday, August 31, 2024, in Lagos, Nigeria.

Miss South Africa Controversy

Recall that Miss Adetshina withdrew from the 2024 Miss South Africa Pageant at the top finalists’ stage following controversy around her national identity. The President of the Silverbird Group, organisers of the Miss Universe Nigeria Pageant, subsequently invited her to participate in the 2024 edition along with 24 other contestants, which she went on to win.

Demand

According to reports monitored by NewsPlus, the Department of Home Affairs issued Chidimma Adetshina’s mother a letter to explain how she got the South African ID used to register her daughter at birth.

ActionSA wants to know how the subject of an alleged fraud and corruption investigation was permitted to leave the country.

What do you make of this?
