Where is the C-IN-C?

Post Published on April 21, 2025 by Anthony Ekata

Benue is burning
Plateau in pain
Sorrow courses through arteries of the South-South,
the South-West and the South-East.

Imported and local non-state actors
Continue to stage in the Northwest, Northeast, and North-Central regions
Sinister plots scripted, produced, and directed by some state actors, unrestrained and undeterred.

The Law that should deter is in bed with the perpetrators
Rubbing red pepper in the victims’ mortal wounds
Punishing prey for the transgressions of predators.

Farmlands are freely overrun by bestial pilgrims and sacred cows on covert missions
Wielding life-snuffing weapons and feeding farm produce to their wandering beasts.

In place of food,
Hapless farmers harvest anguish.
Orphans, widows, and widowers replace breadwinners.
Promised change has changed to chains
While renewed hope is covered in the ashes of hopelessness.

In all of this,
Where is the C-in-C?
